Shirt Policy: How it works
Our goal is to provide great race T-shirts to all registered runners and walkers that participate in our races. We carefully calculate the amount of shirts to be printed based on the shirt size listed by pre-registered entrants.
We normally order five sizes: small, medium, large, XL and XXL based on a percentage of what people have listed for as size on their registration. * Sometimes we do womens sizes as well.
In order to provide custom technical wicking shirts we have to order these shirts weeks in advance. Therefore, we have to estimate not only how many shirts to order, but how many of each size well in advance of the final count for the race.
First Come - First Served Policy
When you come to pick up your shirt, you may pick from ANY SIZE that is available. We do this as a courtesy to our runners and walkers. We find that 30% of the time, people switch to a size that fits them better. (You may have checked off a medium, but feel a large fits better) Under this policy we find that 95% of the runners and walkers receive a t-shirt that really fits well and they will wear.... which is our goal of course.
What you can do...ARRIVE EARLY
Your best chance to get the exact size you want
- is to arrive early. By this we mean to be safe - 1 hour before
the race to pickup your shirt. In most races we find that we have
most sizes up to 30 minutes before the race starts.
What distance is this race?
The Half at the Hamptons is a half Marathon, 13.1 miles long with
a good section of the race running along the Atlantic Ocean along
a picture perfect sandy beach as well as passing through rural
parts of Hampton and North Hampton. The course will be certified,
accurate and well marked.
ARE WALKERS ALLOWED?
YES! Wallkers are very welcome to our event. All we ask is that
you obey the rules of the course and walk no more than two people
abreast so that others may pass easily. Walkers will start officially
one hour before the runners.
NOTE: if you plan to run any portion of the race at all, please register as a runner.
What is the course like?
(Wicked FLAT)
Hampton course:
Certifed course # NH09001RF
Our course starts in the center of Hampton Beach- On D Street. The start is near the famous Clamshell on Hampton beach but, before you start - plunge into the cool ocean water at Hampton Beach Park It has a wide sandy beach with bathhouse, showers and lifeguards, * summer only along with blocks of attractions, restaurants, and hotels.
Next you will travel north on Ocean Boulevard. After a foliage laden loop of Hampton's rural roads and neighborhoods it takes a fairly flat and rolling course into the small but picturesque town of North Hampton. First settled in 1639, this town was a part of Hampton known as "North Hill" or "North Parish."following separation of New Hampshire from Massachusetts. Just off of the course are Fuller Gardens where you can enjoy two acres of formal flower gardens (hundreds of tulips and 2,000 rose bushes) at a turn-of-the-century estate. (might be covered in snow- this time of year)
This is a "loop" course where the top of the loop eventually ends back up on Rt. 1A before mile 8 on the most scenic Atlantic Ocean roads on the rocky New Hampshire coast. Enjoy unobstructed views of the Ocean first, the rocky ocean cliffs at Llittle Boars Head, a seaside promontory, that became a fashionable summer resort in the 19th century, and contains elegant examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture. On you will travel past North Hampton State Beach where locals often find a quieter place and you might see hardy souls riding the waves. North Beach also has a sandy beach, bathhouse and lifeguards. Right on the water’s edge, the park offers beautiful gardens and places to spread out for a picnic or nap.
On your way south, you have just traveled the so-called “two-mile drive” It’s said to be the most spectacular ocean-side drive on the East Coast. On the left, nothing but ocean, on the right, expansive beautiful homes. Finally you come back to Hampton Beach to the finish at the Hampton Beach State Park and the well deserved after-race party.
Restroom facilities: For your convenience, there will be bathroom facilities on the course, location mile 5 stop and mile 10 water stop at the North Hampton State Park Beach Bathrooms.
WHERE ARE THE Aid STOPS? Miles 2.5-5-7.5-10 approximately There will be four water stops, .also energy drinks and GU will be available at one aid station

Watching the race: Spectators
are welcome to come to the start/finish area to cheer on the runners.
Driving would let you see them in a few more places but we discourage
that as with 1500 runners on the road you may simply be stuck
in traffic.
WILL THE RACE ENTRIES BE CAPPED?
For the safety of our race participants, the entry numbers will
be capped to control the numbers at the Half Marathon starting
lines. We would love to be able to let everyone in, but safety
requires that we limit the field. The number of participants for
2009 is capped at 1700 for the Half Marathon.
